June 28, 2010 - Collectable Baseballs Stolen


  On 6/22/2010 a residential burglary occurred in Nashua, NH., Taken in this burglary were 16 autographed baseballs. The baseballs were part of a collection belonging to the family of an ex major league baseball player. The balls were autographed by Ted Williams (6), Jim Hern (1), Jim Rice (1), and Babe Ruth (1). Also taken were one Boston Red Sox 1967 team ball and one Throwback All Star baseball signed by Rabbit Moranville, Babe Ruth, Ray Oban and Smokey Joe Wood. Collectable baseballs of this nature are most valuable to private collectors and sports memorabilia dealers. Anyone having information about the burglary or information about possible attempts to sell all or parts of this collection to memorabilia dealers is asked to notify Detectives Rob Macleod and Joe Molinari of the Nashua Police Department’s Burglary Investigation Unit at 603-594-3500.
