September 27, 2012 - NPD ANNOUNCES SENIOR CITIZENS ACADEMY SET

Nashua Police Chief John J. Seusing has announced that registrations are now being accepted for the department's Senior Citizens Academy which begins on October 10, 2012.

Like the departments Citizens Academy, the program is designed to give seniors an inside look into how the Nashua Police Department operates. What is different is the focus on issues that seniors face everyday, fraud, personal safety, scams, and identity theft to name just a few.

Officer Jane Constant, the state's only fulltime senior relations officer will coordinate the sessions and encourages seniors to sign up now. The five week program will be held on Wednesday mornings from 8:30 to noon in the department classroom beginning Wednesday, October 10th thru November 7th.

Participants will meet with officers and see first hand how NPD operates and receive information on steps they can take to protect themselves.

To register call Officer Constant at 594-3628. The deadline to sign up is Friday, October 5, 2012.
