Chief Seusing announces retirement

 

  The Nashua Police Commission announces the retirement of Police Chief John J. Seusing. The retirement notification was formally accepted at the Police Commission meeting held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Commissioner Thomas Maffee said that Chief Seusing will retire on January 1, 2015, following a distinguished 32 year career with the department.

 

  The Nashua Police Commission unanimously selected Deputy Chief Andrew J. Lavoie, as Chief Seusing’s successor as Chief of Police. According to Commissioner Maffee, Deputy Lavoie has held the position of Deputy Chief for the past three years. He has been a member of the Command Staff since 2007 and a member of the Nashua Police Department since 1987. During Deputy Chief Lavoie’s 28 year career, he has held numerous command assignments within the department including the Uniform Field Operations Bureau, Detective Bureau, and Professional Standards Bureau. Deputy Chief Lavoie obtained his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Western New England College and his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Franklin Pierce College. He is a graduate of Leadership Greater Nashua, and is a US Navy veteran. He is currently a member of the Nashua Exchange Club and a member of the Board of Directors for Bridges Sexual and Domestic Violence Support.

NPD Now conducting Citizen Survey

 

  The Nashua Police Department is currently conducting a Citizen Survey of the residents of the City of Nashua. The survey is designed to provide the department with feedback on our job performance. All city residents are encouraged to participate, as are people with business interests within Nashua. The Nashua Police Department will use this survey to measure our effectiveness and improve the delivery of police services within the city.

  The survey is now available by clicking HERE. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey, which will then be electronically sent to the department. Hardcopies of the survey are also available at the Nashua Senior Center and at the Nashua Police Department. Completed hardcopy surveys can be dropped off at any of these locations as well.

  The survey will be available until November 7th. Results will be posted on the website at the conclusion of the survey.
